The right to repair is coming: Repair information is becoming increasingly important

The right to repair is on the home straight: It was adopted by the European Parliament on April 23, 2024. In the future, the repair of usable defective goods purchased by consumers will be made easier, which will apply both within and outside the liability of the seller. This requires repair information for consumers and independent repair technicians. So far, the regulation will apply to the following products: household washing machines and household washer-dryers, household dishwashers, refrigerating appliances, electronic displays, welding equipment, vacuum cleaners, servers and data storage products, mobile phones, cordless phones and tablets.
A working group of tekom Europe will discuss how we can support our members in preparing repair information in good quality.
